This residence in Connecticut was built for a family by US studio Cutler Anderson Architects, and also the owners asked to bring a pond to observe birds, insects and fish at play.
The house was split into three volumes, and can be arranged around the water feature. Some parts are increased above the ground to maintain all the accommodation on one level, and they're linked with long narrow bridges. Massive amounts of gas are put along the inner walls facing the water.
All these volumes contains another purpose of the family home. The first one includes home's common areas: a kitchen, a living room, a living and dining space, all flooded with natural light. A balcony expands these spaces towards the forest and creates a elevated platform for the residents to enjoy the outdoors in good weather.
Floor-to-ceiling glass walls enclose the bedrooms, providing expansive views into the forest outside. Glazed corners and cylindrical columns counter in the walls are among the complex detailing. The third volume includes two additional bedrooms, in addition to the home's garage, which can be accessed from a side street.
Likewise to the bedrooms, each one of those rooms also has a personal bathroom and small vestibule separating it in the remainder of the home.
To provide the residence a natural texture on the inside, also, the designers used Douglas fir and big stone floor tiles, along with the furniture was in light gray hues to complement the decor. Geothermal sources heat and cool the home, via 14 wells spread throughout the website, along with an array of solar panels in the roof offers additional electricity.
