Produced by 2XJ architects to get a young family, the House in Druskininkai, Lithuania, is located in the woodlands, and its architecture takes inspiration from pine cones.
The inside layout is split into two sections -- one for relaxing and also the other for living. The main living area features the kitchen, dining room, living room which feels spacious thanks to its double-height ceiling. The kitchen and dining space are done with light-colored wood, the cooking surfaces are concrete for durability plus a contemporary edgy feel.
The living room is done with a sizable U-shaped sofa in bold blue, and some metallic tables along with a colorful mosaic carpet, the design of that can be repeated in other spaces to connect them all in one. The master bedroom features light and darker tones of blue, floating nightstands along with an upholstered bed.
The bathroom is fully clad with mosaic and colorful tiles, which remind of this carpet. The kid's space is done using a single unit, which features storage below and a bed on top and some climbing details to stimulate activity.
The decor is done with bold and muted colors, much wood and concrete for a laconic modern look. Which parts resemble pinecones? This is an entirely distinctive decor feature which aids the home stand out.
